Approach Sheffield by the M1 (and M18 if necessary).  From the west, use the A57 Snake Pass via Glossop.

From M1, M18
Approach Sheffield on the M1 and leave the motorway at Junction 33, following the City Centre signs along the dual carriageway A630/A57/A61 Parkway, which ends in a large roundabout – Park Square.  From here, take the fifth exit, the A57/A61, following the Ring Road, and passing the Hilton/Royal Victoria Hotels on the right.  Remain in the left hand lane and continue straight on at the traffic lights, signposted A57 Glossop, passing the Law Courts on the right.  Turn left at the next roundabout and continue straight on.  From here it is signposted to the University, up Brook Hill to the Brook Hill roundabout.  Take the second exit for the main Western Bank, Firth Court and Alfred Denny building is on the right.  Visitor car parking on the central campus is limited and by permit only (one week’s notice is required by the host department where possible).

From the West (A57)
Follow the City Centre signs. The route continues to Western Bank, and the University is signposted for the last mile.

By Train
Sheffield is at the heart of the railway network.  Regular services operate between Sheffield and London St Pancras (2½ hours), Birmingham (1¼ hours), Leeds (1 hour), Manchester (1 hour) and Nottingham (1 hour).  Direct links to the University campus from the railway station are provided by Supertram (accessed via platform 6b) or Mainline bus service 60 from outside the railway station.  During the day trams run every 10 minutes.

Local Transport
The University is also serviced by the following buses 2, 26 32, 50, 51, 51A, 59, 60, 95, 120, 121, 123, 201, M6, M60 and X30.  The 60 bus pick up at both the railway station and transport interchange.

Taxi
There are taxi ranks at the Railway Station and the City Hall.  The journey to the University can take 15 minutes (depending on traffic) and you should expect to pay about £5.
