Centres for Assisted Reproduction (CARE) was formed in 1997 at The Park Hospital in Nottingham. The unit is a joint venture between CARE directors and BMI Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare services throughout the UK.
 
CARE directors Dr Simon Fishel, Mr Ken Dowell and Mr Simon Thornton lead a team of clinical, nursing, embryological, research and administrative staff. CARE’s main base is located at The Park Hospital in Nottingham. It has other centres at the Alexandra Hospital, Victoria Park, Manchester, the Three Shires Hospital, Northampton, Sheffield Fertility Centre and satellite IVF links with the Nuffield Hospital, Leicester, the Fitzwilliam Hospital in Peterborough, Derby General Hospital as well as the Beaumont Hospital, Bolton, all offering a complete range of infertility diagnosis and treatment. CARE has links with Biogenisi in Italy, Vitalab in South Africa and 'ICSI' clinic in Islamabad, Pakistan.

CARE aims to become a global centre of excellence in the treatment of infertile patients and research into infertility, sharing knowledge, ability and information throughout its network.   CARE is expanding nationally and internationally to provide a comprehensive programme of treatment for sub-fertile, childless and genetically compromised patients, to develop treatments for those who cannot, as yet, be offered treatment and to bring an understanding of the needs and requirements of these patients to policy makers, grant-awarding institutions and the public at large.

CARE sustains adequate income streams to support its research, treatment and education programmes and provides a premier quality of service to all its patients, doctors, suppliers and visitors.  It remains sensitive to the needs of its patients at all times and adheres strictly to the cultural and legal constraints applying to each nation where it is represented, to provide to optimum chance of a successful treatment.
