“It may be that, some ages hence... the restoration of grey hairs to juvenility and the renewing of the exhausted marrow may at length be elicited without a miracle”

THE CENTRE FOR STEM CELL BIOLOGY
The CSCB is an MRC resource centre for HESCs based at Sheffield University and works closely with the UK Stem Cell Bank. The CSCB is co-directed by Professors Peter Andrews and Harry Moore. For 2004, the CSCB held grants totalling around £6m, including a programme grant from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to investigate the use of HESCs to derive insulin-secreting cells, as well as project grants from the BBSRC, MRC and Yorkshire Cancer Research. The CSCB was also recognised in the UK Stem Cell Initiative as the number one university in the UK in terms of the generation of stem cell intellectual property.
A Pipeline Agreement between the CSCB and Axordia, provides Axordia with access to any intellectual property generated in the laboratories of Professors Harry Moore and Peter Andrews. Axordia therefore stands to benefit from the foreground intellectual property rights (IPR) derived from a highly relevant, multi-million pound research programme.
